to the American
Medical Association, addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disease characterized by compulsive drug seeking and
use despite often devastating consequences. It is important for
people to remember that no sane person would choose to be stricken with
this
deadly disease, just like no person would choose to become diabetic. As
of today, there is no single
predictor of who will become addicted and who won’t. However,
factors such as genetics, peer groups,
family history, intimate relationships, and chemical use are good
predictors. Serenity Path was created to help those still struggling find a new way of life. A sober life that is happy, peaceful, healthy, and personally fulfilling. In other words, we help those who are looking find the path to serenity.
